who woulda thunk it...

There have been some postings in the last few days laying out how the Democrats are not 'caving' or 'capitulating' to the Bush Agenda, but that their disgraceful conduct is actually The Project Plan.

Michael Mukasey was given nothing short of a free ride to his appointment as Attorney General. There were some for-the-camera theatrics in the questioning, but if you paid attention to the confirmation hearings, you knew that it was a done deal.

Anyone who didn't see this coming is delusional.

boy oh boy, I have to say that, at this point, I have a hard time seeing any other explanation for the ongoing activities of this Democratic leadership.

I've only written one other diary here (last year and of little consequence), I comment some and lurk incessantly.  But with the confluence of the 35W Bridge collapse, the impending 2nd Anniversary of the levies' collapse in New Orleans, the continuing outrage in Iraq, our Democratic representatives collapse and, certainly not the least, my frustation at not being able to be in Chicago right now(!), many thoughts have started to, oddly, quiet down enough to be sorted out.  Follow along if you'd like...
